imagining better futures

sustainable futures, interdisciplinary interfaces

seekicks and Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) are continuously working on developing new learning spaces where students together with researchers and practitioners work towards collaborative environments to imagine better futures.

HNEE is an important driving force for sustainable development, both nationally and internationally. Its contemporary-style campus university, situated in an extensive area of natural landscape not far from the city of Berlin, has 2,300 students from 57 different countries, as well as more than 370 employees engaged in research, teaching and other roles. There are four faculties – Forest and Environment, Landscape Management and Nature Conservation, Wood Engineering and Sustainable Business – with currently 20 different study programmes, some unique across Germany, which enable students to acquire expertise in the fields of nature conservation, forestry, organic farming, climate change adaptation, sustainable business, timber construction and sustainable tourism management.
