“Art / Design as a Profession” offers assistance with the first steps into professional self-employment and the entrepreneurial positioning as a freelancer*.

The workshop provides central information on the topics of tax, special features of the small business regulation, accounting, dealing with the tax office, contracts and insurance.

Artists and the tax office: registration with the tax office – at what level of income does income tax have to be paid? – VAT regulations – small business regulation – determination of profits – tax return.

Current management: profit and loss statement – accounting – basics (what must be kept, how long, what system) – General contracts / contracts with gallery owners.

Insurances: Künstlersozialkasse – minimum income in KSK – special regulations for beginners – other insurances.
