DAAD – SDGs in Higher Education

weißensee school of art and design and the University for Sustainable Development Eberswalde (HNEE) are research partners in a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) funded project where researchers and teachers from different countries and multiple disciplines come together to think about how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as part of the United Nations’ 2033 Agenda for Sustainable Development, can be implemented in the curricula of higher education.

The transdisciplinary learning spaces will implement novel means to demonstrate to external stakeholders the contribution of universities to global and local wellbeing and thus their relevance and impact. At the same time, this transdisciplinary approach can help identify common interests across different areas of the universities, which can enhance cross-disciplinary partnerships, collaboration, and innovation.

what’s happening

In June 2022 the project kicked-off with a mapping of existing activities that already support and contribute to the SDGs and a Berlin-visit from our partner universities in Latin America.
