Tax office, accounting, contracts and insurances
“Art / Design as a Profession” offers assistance in taking the first steps towards professional self-employment and entrepreneurial positioning as a freelancer*.
The workshop provides central information on the topics of tax, special features of the small business regulation (Kleinunternehmerregelung), accounting, dealing with the tax office, contracts and insurance.
You will learn about:
- Artists and the tax office: registration with the tax office – at what level of income does income tax apply? – VAT regulations – small business regulation – determination of profits – tax return.
- Current management: profit and loss statement – accounting – basics (what must be kept, how long, what system) – General contracts / contracts with gallery owners.
- Insurances: Künstlersozialkasse – minimum income in KSK – special regulations for beginners – other insurances.
- Networking: Municipal studio funding – important partners – further information offers

By attending two offers and a personal résumé, 2 ETCS points can be earned in the “Theorie & Geschichte” department.
